Dear Members,
This July, the Fraternal Order of Police, the FOP Auxiliary, and Gratitude Initiative (GI) will officially launch the inaugural Law Enforcement Child Month — a national movement dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the children and families who stand behind those who serve our communities every day.
Every law enforcement officer understands service, sacrifice, and commitment. Law enforcement is not simply a job, but a calling. For officers with families, it often becomes the family business, with spouses and children sharing in both the sacrifices and pride that come with the profession.
Law enforcement children are resilient, adaptable, and proud to stand behind mom or dad. Sometimes, however, a little extra recognition, encouragement, and support can go a long way.
The June issue of the FOP magazine includes a special feature article introducing Law Enforcement Child Month and the vision behind this new grassroots initiative supporting the children and families behind the badge.
Many state and local lodges across the country will be participating throughout July, and members are encouraged to learn more and support local efforts recognizing and celebrating law enforcement children and families.
A special Law Enforcement Child Month website has been established to provide updates, information, and opportunities to support the initiative leading up to July.

Thank you for your continued service and for all that you do for your families, communities, and fellow members.
Fraternally,
Joe Gamaldi
